A tribute to Mary at the end of May

Most of May seems to have slipped by with the emphasis on Easter and the changes in papal leadership. In these last days of May I want to pray my own tribute to this woman who is always present and in the background of our personal spiritual journey. As we push ahead to achieve, to meet challenges and persevere she is in the shadow of our consciousness, helping us to maintain our balance and focus.

She speaks softly with gentleness, with wisdom and with an awareness of our frailty. She herself endured uncertainty, was uprooted, misunderstood and suffered the pain of a broken heart. She is the inner soothing presence that points towards Jesus on his journey, on the cross, and in eternity. She accompanies us through our sufferings, our faults and our foolishness each day. Our lady of our inner journey, pray for us.
